KAM SHARM

Your project has entered in our festival. What is your project about?
Our film unfolds a compelling narrative centered around the pervasive issues of domestic violence against women and the detrimental influence of substance abuse on relationships and love. At its core, the story chronicles the journey of a resilient woman who, in the face of adversity, not only triumphs over violence but also emerges as the victor of a beauty pageant, charting a new and empowering path for herself. The movie is based on real incidents in NZ

What are your ambitions with your project?
We believe that the resonance of our film's message will be further amplified by winning an international award of repute such as yours. This recognition will not only honor the hard work and dedication of our team but will also serve as a catalyst for us to expand our project into a full-feature film. Currently, we have substantial footage for a 40-minute movie and are prepared to invest the necessary resources to extend it into a feature-length production or to craft a new script that continues to address the critical issues at hand.

Why did you decided to become a filmmaker?
Indeed, cinema stands out as the greatest art because it serves as a unique convergence point for various artistic disciplines. It harmoniously brings together elements of visual arts, storytelling, music, acting, cinematography, and more, creating a multi-dimensional tapestry that resonates with audiences on emotional, intellectual, and sensory levels. At its core, cinema is a powerful platform that allows creators to express their deepest thoughts and emotions. It serves as a canvas where filmmakers can paint intricate visual narratives, convey complex ideas, and explore the human experience in profound ways. The collaborative nature of filmmaking, involving directors, writers, actors, musicians, and other artists, underscores the richness of this art form.
In essence, cinema stands as the greatest art form because it is a universal language that speaks to the core of our humanity, providing a platform for the expression of not only individual thoughts but also for the shared experiences and aspirations of us all.
